A refrigerator magnet for my boyfriend's quilting mother. Made from recycled materials. I put it in the box you see underneath with a bunch of sewing things, including some cloth remnants.
Text is 3-D gold paint, lined with Sharpie, on tesselation paper colored crudely with Prismacolors. Glued them to some black foam, which I, in turn, glued to a piece of fabric. Hand-stitched the gold thread through some more foam and even left the needle in there as decoration (as well as a button). Glued /that/ foam onto another piece of foam, which is glued to an old refrigerator magnet sheet. Approximately 4.5" x 2.5"  glue. Really lets you pull things together.  |
